Browse automated baggers for sale — volumetric and weight-based bagging systems from Amadas, Sittler, Rotochopper, and other manufacturers. An automated bagger controls the fill amount mechanically or electronically, delivering consistent bag weights without relying on operator judgment. GrinderCrusherScreen carries used automated bagging machines for mulch, soil, compost, and aggregate operations. Call 770-433-2670 for pricing and availability.

How Automated Baggers Work

An automated bagger uses either volumetric measurement (a calibrated chamber that fills to a set volume) or weight-based measurement (a scale that cuts off material flow at a target weight) to control the amount of material in each bag. The operator places the bag and triggers the fill cycle — the machine handles the rest.

The advantage over manual baggers is consistency. Every bag gets the same fill regardless of operator fatigue or attention. This reduces material waste from overfilling and customer complaints from underfilling.

Models in Our Inventory

Current listings include the Amadas BG01 ($49,000) with automated volume control, a 2017 Mobile Bag-Fill System ($150,000) with patented dustless filling nozzle for paper or plastic bags, and a 2021 Sittler Bagger ($44,000) processing 16x28" bags at up to 100 bags per hour with a two-stage scale. Inventory rotates — call for current availability.

Automated vs. Manual Baggers

Automated baggers cost more upfront than manual 1-chute or 3-chute machines but reduce labor cost per bag and eliminate fill inconsistency. The break-even point depends on your daily volume and labor costs. High-volume operations (500+ bags per day) typically justify automation.

What to Check Before You Buy

Inspect the metering system — volumetric chambers wear over time and lose accuracy, scale load cells drift and need calibration. Check the control panel and sensors for proper function. Verify the machine's stated bags-per-hour matches real-world throughput for your material type. Inspect the hopper, feed conveyor, and bag clamping mechanism.
