Browse cone crushers for sale for secondary and tertiary crushing applications. A cone crusher uses a rotating mantle inside a concave bowl to crush material by compression, producing precisely graded aggregate at controlled output sizes. GrinderCrusherScreen carries new and used cone crushers from Extec, Telsmith, Powerscreen, and other manufacturers. Call 770-433-2670 for pricing and availability.

How a Cone Crusher Works

Material feeds into the top of the crushing chamber between a gyrating mantle and a stationary concave bowl. The mantle rotates eccentrically inside the bowl, continuously compressing material against the chamber walls. As material fractures and reduces in size, it moves downward through an increasingly narrow gap and exits at the bottom at the target size.

Cone crushers excel at secondary and tertiary crushing — taking the coarse output from a primary jaw crusher and reducing it further into precisely graded aggregate. They are standard equipment in quarries, mining operations, and high-volume aggregate plants where gradation control and consistent product shape matter.

Cone Crushers in a Crushing Circuit

Cone crushers take output from a primary jaw crusher and reduce it to spec-grade aggregate sizes. In a typical circuit: a jaw crusher handles primary reduction (producing 2-6" material), then a cone crusher takes that output down to 3/4" to 1-1/2" finished product. Adding a screen after the cone allows you to separate multiple product sizes from a single feed.

What to Check Before You Buy

Inspect the mantle and bowl liner for remaining thickness and even wear pattern. Uneven wear indicates a feed distribution problem or frame misalignment. Check the eccentric bearing and main shaft for play. Inspect the hydraulic tramp release system — this protects the crusher from uncrushable objects. Check the drive components, lubrication system, and frame for cracking.
