National heavy equipment dealer expands into air curtain burner category after sustained customer demand
Smyrna GA - GrinderCrusherScreen, a national heavy equipment dealer in business since 1973, has added the Merris line of air curtain burners to its equipment offerings. The company now carries the Merris WX-5 and WX-8 air curtain burners for customers in land clearing, forestry, disaster debris removal, and waste management operations across North America.
The decision to carry the Merris line came directly from customer feedback. Over the past several years, GrinderCrusherScreen's sales team fielded a growing number of requests from customers looking for air curtain burners alongside the grinders, crushers, screens, and shredders the company already provides.
"Our customers kept telling us they needed a reliable air curtain burner option from a dealer they already trusted," said a GrinderCrusherScreen representative. "We listened. We evaluated the options on the market, and Merris stood out as a well-built, no-nonsense machine that fits the kind of work our customers do every day."
The Merris WX-5 is a compact air curtain burner that handles 3 to 6 tons of clean wood waste per hour. It runs on a 24 HP Yanmar or Kohler diesel engine and consumes approximately 1 gallon of fuel per hour. The WX-5 is designed for contractors, municipalities, and smaller clearing operations that need steady throughput without the size and cost of a full-scale unit.
The Merris WX-8 is built for high-volume operations, processing 6 to 9 tons of wood waste per hour. It runs on a 47.9 HP Yanmar or Kohler diesel engine and handles large land clearing, forestry, and disaster debris jobs. The WX-8 is built for crews that need to move serious material volume every day.
Both units are designed for clean wood waste and vegetative debris: logs, limbs, brush, stumps, untreated lumber, and organic material from clearing and forestry operations.
Air curtain burners use a high-velocity wall of air to contain smoke and particulate emissions while burning wood waste at temperatures exceeding 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. The technology reduces material to a thin layer of ash with minimal visible smoke, making it a cleaner and faster alternative to open burning. Most air curtain burner operations fall under EPA regulation 40 CFR Part 60.
The machines are widely used in land clearing, forestry, disaster debris removal, agricultural waste disposal, and landfill volume reduction. Demand for air curtain burners has grown steadily as more states restrict open burning and operators look for compliant alternatives.
GrinderCrusherScreen provides the same level of support for its Merris air curtain burner customers that it has offered across its full equipment line for over 50 years. This includes help with equipment selection, financing, delivery coordination anywhere in North America, and ongoing customer support.
The company also continues to handle used air curtain burners from Air Burners Inc and other manufacturers through its brokerage operation, giving buyers access to both new and used options in a single place.
GrinderCrusherScreen has been serving the recycling and aggregate industries since 1973. The company sells new equipment from its distribution brands and markets used equipment for owners across North America and the Caribbean. Equipment categories include grinders, crushers, screens, shredders, conveyors, compost turners, and now air curtain burners.
